The arithmetic

A share or a block at difficulty D costs D × 232 hashes on average — that is what difficulty means. Everything else follows:

blocks per day   = your hashrate × 86,400 ÷ (difficulty × 2³²)
subsidy per day  = blocks per day × block subsidy
solo wait        = difficulty × 2³² ÷ your hashrate

Note what is not in there: the number of blocks the network produces per day. It does not belong. You earn in proportion to the work you do against the difficulty, and a network that finds blocks faster simply means more blocks to take a share of. Calculators that start from "144 blocks a day" bake in an assumption that is currently wrong by a factor of four.

Why blocks are arriving faster than every ten minutes

The chain forked on 30 August 2026 and its hashrate has grown faster than the difficulty can follow. Difficulty only retargets every 2016 blocks, and until it does, the same difficulty is being met far more often than the ten-minute target — right now one about every .

For a miner this is straightforwardly good while it lasts: the same hashrate earns the same share of a subsidy that is being paid out roughly four times as often as the design intends. It will correct. When the retarget lands, difficulty rises to match the hashrate and earnings per unit of hashrate fall accordingly. The countdown is in the table above.

This is also why a figure like "network hashrate" is ambiguous on a young chain. Derived from the difficulty it is about ; measured from how quickly blocks are actually arriving it is . Both are true statements about different things, and only the second one describes what is really out there hashing.

What this does not tell you

There is no price in this calculator and no electricity cost, on purpose. A coin price on a young fork with thin liquidity changes faster than any page can honestly quote, and your power tariff is yours. What is here is the part that is calculable: how much BTC the chain will hand you for a given amount of work. Multiply by whatever you believe the rest is.
